God's Other Son Hardcover – Novem by Don Imus (Author)/5(19). This book is a satire where a man believes that he is God's son because he has no father.

Thus, it must have been an immaculate conception. Very funny and a good read/5. "God had two sons. Jesus was His first, and I, Billy Sol Hargus, am His second." Thus begins Don Imus's riotously funny story about the life and times of the lecherous, corrupt, hustling, huckstering television evangelist who claims to have a 2, year old brother named Jesus/5(19).

The Other Son, by Nick Alexander is the third book Ive read by this author after reading the both books of the Hannah series. This character-based story is pretty much in the same vein as his other books, exploring intra-familial relationships, the complexities of /5.

Bible verses about other gods. There is only one God and God is three divine persons all in one. The father, son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Throughout Scripture we learn that Jesus is God in the flesh. God shares His glory with no one. Only God can die for the sins of the whole world.

(Isaiah ) Jesus is called God’s Son because Jehovah created him. Angels, as well as the man Adam, are also called sons of God. Angels, as well as the man Adam, are also called sons of God. — Job ; Luke The phrase bn ilm ("sons of the gods") is also attested in Ugaritic texts, as is the phrase phr bn ilm ("assembly of the sons of the gods").

Elsewhere in the Ugarit corpus it is suggested that the bn ilm were the 70 sons of Asherah and El, who were the titulary deities of the people of the known world. Barnes' Notes on the Bible says, "The Chaldee is simply, לבר־אלחין דמה dâmēh lebar 'ĕlâhı̂yn - "like to A son of God," or to a son of the gods - since the word אלחין 'ĕlâhı̂yn (Chaldee), or אלהים 'ĕlohı̂ym (Hebrew), though often, and indeed usually applied to the true God.

The New Testament calls Christ the “only born,” or, as translated in the KJV, the “only begotten” Son of God (John18;18; 1 John ). The others are actually created “Sons”; created in a similar way that Adam was brought into existence. Not one of those other created “Sons.

But the Lord in,educes a more wonderful term to denote his own personality. This "Son of man" is none other than his only begotten Son (cf. notes, John18). Just as Abraham had not kept back his only begotten son from God, so God has not withheld his perfect Image, his Well-beloved, his Eternal Logos, the perfect ideal of sonship.

In "The Other Gods", Barzai the Wise is high-priest of the Gods of Earth (the Great Ones) in Ulthar and one-time teacher of Atal. According to the story, he often delved into the unknown, reading such works as the Pnakotic Manuscripts and the Seven Cryptical Books of Hsan. He is the son of an aristocrat, which makes him skeptical of commoners' : H.P.

Lovecraft. The Nephilim are giants of extra-human strength who were the offspring of these marriages. "Sons of God" refers to descendents of Seth, who were godly men who sinned by marrying descendents of Cain, who would have been pagans.

The Nephilim were simply "heroes", not giants, and may or may not have been the offspring of the mixed marriages. John states: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (King James Version) Later in the same chapter, the apostle John clearly shows that “the Word” is Jesus.() Since the Word is called God, however, some conclude that the Son and the Father must be part of the same GodBear in mind that this part of the Bible was originally written in Greek.

When we believe the Lord, he credits it to us as righteousness (). Abinadi taught that Jesus Christ was both "the Father and the Son." This has caused many to wonder whether the Book of Mormon teaches a trinitarian concept of God.

By viewing Abinadi's teachings through the lenses of Mesoamerican "deity complexes," however, a different understanding emerges. These "deity complexes" in Maya religion envisioned single deities in various.

Question: "Why is Ezekiel called son of man if it is a title for Jesus?" Answer: The term son of man is used variously in Scripture.

Jesus is indeed referred to as the Son of Man in the New Testament—88 times, to be exact. The term son of man is also found in the Old Testament. The prophet Ezekiel is called “son of man” over 90 times. Thus, both Jesus and Ezekiel can rightly be called.

Here is a God who can win back wandering hearts by the mere opening of eyes to who He is, who can give the deepest hope and comfort to the stumbling saint. Love has come to mean many things. It's used to describe emotions. It's the glue for relationships. It frames countless stories.

The greatest of these stories opens before time began and echoes throughout eternity. It's the story of God's unrelenting, overwhelming love for His people. The truth of love is even more majestic, more staggering and more extraordinary than we can understand: God. Ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. Most Egyptian gods represented one principle aspect of the world: Ra was the sun god, for example, and Nut was goddess of the sky. The characters of the gods were not clearly defined. Most were generally benevolent but their favor could not be counted on.

Some gods were spiteful and had to be placated. The One God is a book of revelation that provides a new understanding of the nature and reality of God and God’s Plan and Purpose in the world and in the Greater Community of life in the universe.
